The Custom Design Process

A calm, collaborative approach.

Custom jewellery is designed one-on-one, with clarity, intention, and thoughtful guidance at every stage. Whether you’re creating a custom engagement ring, redesigning an heirloom, or exploring unique gemstones, the process is designed to feel personal, unrushed, and transparent.

From Concept to Finished Piece

How It Works

Five steps, start to finish

01

Consultation

Meet in-person at the Calgary studio or virtually across Canada. Share your ideas, budget, and inspiration — no pressure, no commitment required.

02

Concept & Sketch

Ideas begin as hand-drawn pencil sketches, allowing the design to develop organically before refinement.

03

Design & Stones

3D renderings and wax models bring the concept to life. Stones are sourced individually and presented — guided by size, budget, quality, and colour.

04

Crafting

Once approved, your piece is crafted to spec with updates throughout and a final quality review before delivery.

05

Delivery

Your finished piece, ready to wear. Most rings are completed within 6–10 weeks of design approval.

The Custom Design Process

A thoughtful alternative to the sales floor.

Custom jewellery doesn’t have to feel intimidating or transactional. The goal is simple: a clear, collaborative process that results in jewellery you’ll want to wear for years to come.

one-on-one design

You work directly with the designer from first concept to final piece. No sales floor, no handoffs.

Guidance Without Overwhelm

You’re walked through materials, stone options, and design considerations at your pace, with clear explanations and no pressure to rush.

Designed With Intention

Each piece is designed around the wearer — something entirely new, or an existing design refined to your style, budget, and timeline.

Calm, Appointment-Only

A private, unrushed setting to explore options, ask questions, and feel confident in your decisions.

Stone Options & Sourcing

Often, the stone is where it starts.

Whether a classic diamond, a specific shade of teal sapphire, or an old mine cut, stones are sourced individually once we’ve defined the direction — not selected from limited in-store inventory.

You’ll get clear direction on what’s worth prioritizing, where you can stretch your budget, and where you don’t need to.

Diamonds

Natural and lab-grown, in classic cuts as well as antique and uncommon shapes — rose cuts, old mine cuts, and other vintage-inspired forms.

Sapphires

A full spectrum — blue, green, teal, yellow, pink, bi-colour. Durable, well suited to daily wear, with far greater colour expression.

Montana Sapphires

Muted, natural palettes — soft blues, smoky greens, teal and steel tones. Each stone unique, quietly distinctive.

Salt & Pepper Diamonds

Internal markings create an organic, textured look — from soft grey to deep, storm-like tones. Each stone visually distinct.

Black Diamonds

Modern, minimal, and bold. Strong visual contrast and a refined, architectural look within custom structures.

Additional Gemstones

Spinel, tourmaline, aquamarine, morganite, and more — selected for hue, clarity, durability, and individual character.

Heirloom Stones

Existing diamonds and gemstones carefully assessed and thoughtfully reused — meaningful pieces reimagined in a new setting.

Metals & Settings

Platinum and golds in every tone, paired to your stone and design — guided to balance beauty, longevity, and budget.
